No problem for me. I wear my hair in a short pixie cut that I chose in order to accommodate both motorcycle or bike helmets and leave a container of styling gel at the office for touch ups. My hair always looks windblown because of the style. Nobody knows I have helmet hair.

Yep - get used to it. Smashed flat.
Actually if you do a search you might find a few threads on this same subject.
You can braid it, buy something called Hedz hairware, Buff Headwraps, etc...

I keep a curling iron, hairspray and hair clips at the office. I go to work early and repair the scary flat helmet hair. There isn't much to be done about it, you get used to it or find very cool hats to wear. LOL.

Well I just switched my scoot insurance over to Flo and she didn't even mention her helmet head trick to me!!! But, she did give me a good deal on my scoot insurance, so all is forgiven!

Plus I always have a ballcap on my head outdoors hiking or doing yardwork or breathing! I use a "pick" to fluff it up, but decided to live with "helmet head" a long time ago and just not worry about it. No one really notices anyway-

But what does an Airhead do to your head when your helmet hits the pavement? I know, I know, we all hope that doesn't happen...but I'm not sure I want anything too much in there that could take away from what the helmet is made to do.

Well, I bought an Airhead from their website. It's actually good, totally solved my helmet hair problem. Now I do look EXACTLY like Flo! Happy Camper - if I ever hit the pavement (god forbid) I think my Airhead will only help - it's kind of soft and unintrusive, but adds another layer of protection.

It looks like it would be more comfortable in a looser fitting helmet...I mean, it looks like it would help do what it says it will, but a proper fitting helmet is fairly snug, and don't have a lot of extra room for your head to wiggle around in a crash. Have you ever worn a balaclava under your helmet? There isn't a lot of room before things get tight. I wish the local shops carried them and you were able to try them on.

I ended up getting an A-line bob haircut to deal with my helmet-hair issues. I also made a head wrap thing that keeps it from getting too sweaty & gross under there. As long as I don't put any product in it, it's pretty easy to repair after a ride.
