I didn't really think I was in the market, but...
a couple weeks ago we took a trip to Palmer Lake, with a bunch of the locals, many of which have vintage machines. It's about 50 miles on 55-60mph roads. Some were able to go no problem, others trailed behind. We were on my Kymco 250, which performed admirably. One vintage machine suffered a mechanical on the way home, and we loaded it into a rescue vehicle.
Until we got to about 7500 feet. Then with both of us on it and gear, it had a hard time going over 50. The poor carb just couldn't keep up

.
So I ended up purchasing a used '08 Scarabeo 500. It's a beast. I need to put sliders in to get rid of the low end shudder, but other than that, it has no problem carrying us both at 90mph. I dare say it's a bit more comfortable too.
I apologize that you all have to see my face

, but here's me on the scoot:

The other question I get from my coworkers: "does this mean you'll sell all your smaller scoots?"
Not likely. I will probably sell the Kymco at a loss to someone who needs a bit more oomph, because it's too fine a machine to sit. No way I'm giving up my Buddy though
