Okey doke. Well, I'm an Italian girl, but I ride a Japanese scooter, so I'll do a Japanese scooter question.
What was the first popular Japanese scooter - and the first to exceed 60 mph?

Hmmm. I'd guess it had to be in that golden age of scootering after the WII, and that kind of limits it to a couple of scooters we've talked about previously...the Mitsubishi Fuji scooters, and the Honda Juno. The very first Rabbits were based on the US designs (Cushman, Salisbury Auto Glides), and couldn't make that speed. But the later generation of Fuji Rabbits, the 190 or 192cc or whichever they were, came out the year before my husband was born in 1954. I'd guess they were the first to get the 60 mph mark. Honda at that point was still under 190cc. They went to like 220cc about a year after the Rabbit. So based on that thinking, I'd guess despite Honda's longevity in bikes and scooters, that the Fuji Rabbit might have been the first.

OK...name an oil related chore you do on a 4 stroke engine that you don't/can't do on a 2 stroke.

Hint: Most, almost every, modern scooter is 4 stroke. Most all of you either have to do this yourself or take it to the shop to get it done every so often.

4 Strokes you change the oil. 2 strokes you just add oil as its burned off.

Exactly. 4 stroke engines operate a bit differently than a 2 stroke in the way the make energy and use oil. 4 strokes, as Ellen said, do not "burn" oil. You put it in, and change it like you do on a car. You drain the used oil out, and dispose of it at a recycle center. The bike has an oil filter that is changed, or maybe a screen that is simply cleaned. On two strokes, the oil hits the engine mixed with the gasoline. On older bikes you often had to mix the gas and oil, at a certain ratio, before you poured it into the scooter-kind of like you do with a string trimmer engine. Then many bikes came along that mix the gas and oil themselves. You just have to pour the oil into a reservoir, and keep an eye on it, as it's consumed. The oil doesn't ever come back out of a 2 stroke. (At least not on a good day). That's where you get the term "2 stroke smoke" from...the engine burning that oil...and why they even make raspberry scented 2 stroke oil.

When Honda came out with the Metropolitan they had 2 versions. The Metropolitan and the Metropolitan II. What was the difference between the two. And no, it wasn't the color like I was told by a salesman at the local Honda dealer

That's hysterical. You gotta love these macho motorcycle salesman who just think they're too cool to sell scooters. Let's see...what was the difference? The Met II was as fast as a Vino?
