I have a tan Keeway Venus 50cc. Got 1500 miles on her in 2 months. I use it for my pet sitting business mostly. Looking to upgrade to a bigger engine to get up the hills around me at the posted speed limits. Finding it very unsafe riding on the side of the road, having idiot drivers passing me on curves nearly crashing into oncoming traffic.

I bought a Honda Elite 80cc & learned how to ride on it. To ride in the area I live in I needed more speed than 47mph so I purchased a Aprilia Sportcity 250cc. Love both of them

I've had my Kymco People 150 since June and have had a great time riding, but I'm now thinking of moving up to a 250 for more options. I'm afraid anything larger would be too heavy. Too much scooter could definately put a damper on the ride.

I have a pink 2006 Genuine Pink Buddy. Looks like the majority of scooterists on this Forum ride Genuine. I have been very impressed with this scooter in the last 2 years. 26,000 miles in 2 years and counting. The Buddy rocks! =D>

I had a Honda Elite about 15 years ago then test drove a Helix and fell in love. I gave the Elite to my hubby and off we went for a summer. Turned out he really didn't enjoy riding. I rode for awhile, and then sold both the bikes. But I missed riding so much I bought a bright yellow 2005 Honda Helix three summers ago. I have about 13,500 on it right now and put 7th on this summer. That is my outlet in life.
I'm thinking about a little bigger bike, around a 400 but I'm only 5'2" and the seat heights are just too high for me. The Helix is about 25 1/2 and most of the others seem to be 29-31 and that is just too tall for me. Any suggestions???

You can: have the seat shaved (not too expensive, but takes time) or "slam" the shocks (more money) or mount smaller wheels and tires (expensive, but quick) A lot of women wear high heeled boots, that helps a little. Our scooter is a little too high for me, but just right for Annie. I learned to lean it on just one foot when I am stopped.

I'm checking out the Honda Silverwing next Thursday, my dealer in Richmond, IN only is getting four new ones in and three are sold already. He said scooter sales have been through the roof this year. I'm hoping it is not too big for me. I rode a friend's last year but I was on my toes. I will check about getting the seat cut down. I ride enough that I want a little more weight to the bike and bigger tires. I'm hoping this summer to make more trips. I'm having a ball at this stage of my life!!! I'm not the "motorcycle mama" but the "motorcycle grandma" :D

That is a HUGE bike compared to most scooters. I ride a ton and people are always asking me when I'm going to a bigger bike (I have a Buddy 125 with over 26,000 miles in 2 years) but at this point I really have no desire to go bigger; maybe a 250cc max just so I can keep it light enough to pick up if it ever goes down and to give me a little boost on some hill climbs. So far so good, though. The Yamaha T-max is a rockin' scooter but more giddyup and go than I can imagine!

Personally, I couldn't see myself ever going for anything over a 250cc. If I wanted anything big, I'd just go for a motorcycle.

Well I bought the new Red 09 Silverwing the other day :D It is a big bike but I want to go longer distances this year. I put 7th on my Helix last summer and have owned three bikes the last 15 years. I had a 150 and two 250's. I think it's the wind that really gets to me. I feel like it's pushing me off the road sometimes. I think with more weight to the bike and bigger tires that it might help that. They sent the seat out to be cut down for me. I really need to feel my feet are flat on the ground for control. I'm only 5'2" and I was on my toes. With my good boots and the seat cut down I should be fine. I rode a friends last year and once I was going it felt fine. My Helix was an 04 and it was time to get the value out of it and get a new one. I'm excited this spring to get used to it and then take off for some great rides. :)
I did think about a motorcycle but the scooter are just so easy to ride and I have just never had problems with them. I don't want to worry about changing gears.

I have several motorcycles but only one scooter, it's a 2007 burgundy Honda Elite 125, I understand this particular model is not sold in the U.S.A..
