Fun game Happy Camper. I guess I need to practise the Kitty Bowling Game. You gave me a great idea. I don't have a windshield but I could put Halloween gels on the front of my scooter.
Thanks for the fun idea. I love Halloween.

I've had them fall off when I put them on the side/body panels of my scoots, but they always stay put on the inside of the windshield.
Target had the gel decorations for $1 in their dollar section at the front of the store. If you have any sort of dollar store nearby, I always start there for scooter decorations.
Christmas decorations are already out here; it's not too early to snag some battery operated Christmas lights for your scooter!

Happy Camper, you're a genus! That is a great idea to decorate your scooter for Christmas! Battery operated Christmas lights would be so cute on a scooter. I will check out our dollar stores.

This being Florida, we do Christmas a bit differently. What we don't have in snow, we make up for in lights! (For example, the year I went to the ER for falling off the ladder to the roof when I was putting the last 3' of lights up, the guy ahead of me was getting slivers dug out from where he'd slid down a palm tree. The ER staff said Christmas light season always entertained them).
I just read that because of budget cuts, they are not having this years boat parade on the river, where boats go all out with lights, but there will still be neighborhood festivals. Our scooter club participates in one that has a parade, and when I'm not already out of state for the holidays, I join in. But parade or not, I decorate the scoot. It does get cold here, because we're in north Florida. We get frost, but no snow. Hard to believe maybe, but yeah, you need an ice scraper for your windshield here. So it can get cold riding, but we have clear roads.
The best decorated scoot I've ever seen was by a member of our club who is now deceased. He had a sidecar, and he could put an extra deep cycle battery in there, and use regular house lights....he'd wrap the sidecar with rope lights, he'd have a big candy cane...it was awesome. The rest of us usually just make due with the battery lights. You can find small wreaths that will fit the front of a scoot (if you need a really small one, go to a craft store and look for one made to go around a candle sitting on a table). Wire in some decorations and/or wrap in your lights, and you're good to go. You can usually find cheap bows at the dollar store, too, that are weather proof. You can put wrapped boxes on your luggage rack (wrap them in a plastic throwaway Christmas tablecloth and they can get wet), or wrap your luggage box itself. Got a thrift store nearby? You can find cheap holiday stuffed Santas and such there, and put one of those on your scooter.
If your scooter is in the garage for the winter, slap a wreath on the front of your car (mine gets a wreath and reindeer antlers). The RV gets the gel stickies all over the windows, a tree in one window, and stockings in the back window.

And where would one find battery operated christmas lights? My Big Red is dead, and Arnee still not home from the shop .... scooter season is done here with freezing temps and rain and soon that dreaded *S* word ... but I just may try to find something to do up the cage ... especially if I can get the new (to me) Ford Escape in a couple weeks!!! WalMart? Target? Dollar Stores? I haven't seen anything like battery lights out there ...

I've bought them at Walgreen's and Big Lots, and Walmart usually has them. Jo, you probably haven't noticed them because they historically come in a really small box compared to the other lights....more like a deck of card size. They are just small strings of tiny LED's with a battery pack on the end - although I imagine with better LED technology, we might see bigger and better ones soon. Here's an example: http://www.acehardware.com/product/inde ... 8453495403For a car, or scooter with a cigarette lighter plug, you can also get 12 volt lights; http://www.amazon.com/Boat-Christmas-Li ...
