So, after lurking in your forum I applied to sign up, despite being male.
Why specifically? Well, there are several others that are more brand-specific (I'm sure some of you are there too!), but most general forums are a little too jock-centric for me. They assume a level of technical knowledge, and if you don't have it, you get mocked. Or it's "cram a huge engine on a 50cc size scoot!".
It seems here everyone has a knack for elaborating things that is straightforward and the personalities are awesome.
Plus, as a side note, I'm hoping my wife catches the 2-wheeled bug and is willing to ride with me. So far, she is happy 'cause I'm happy, but that might fade if there are rides and such that she isn't a part of on a consistent basis.
Anyhoo, thanks for letting me ramble. Mostly I just want to wander by and soak up knowledge.

Welcome! I can say from recent experience that the scooter bug can be contagious! Good luck spreading the sickness! (Edited for typo)

Thanks!
I need to get pictures up on all the forums soon anyway. I'll see if I can get some pictures taken in daylight today!
I have:
'09 Yamaha Zuma 50cc. It has the throttle mod done to it and an aftermarket pipe with brand new Bopper tires. If Angela doesn't want to use it I will probably sell it in the spring to someone who will adore it, since it has only 1500 miles. Also leaning that direction because if Angela does want to scoot, she'll quickly outgrow the 50cc (in 2 months, like I did...)
'09 Genuine Buddy Italia 150cc. We call it Yoda. I've only had it a few weeks but I really do love it.
I have wanted a scooter for a long time but life wouldn't allow it. Now I live within 5 miles of most things I do, and am in less of a hurry, so I scoot!
Updated the profile appropriately, pictures to come.

Welcome! Good luck getting your wife to ride also. It took me about 6 months to get my husband riding (he had motorcycles way back but quit years ago). He thanks me regularly for it and a couple of weeks ago his brother told me it is the best thing I ever did for him (I don't know about that but I know the sentiment was good ).

Welcome Skully!
I ended up buying my BF his motorcycle just so I would have someone to ride with me. Now I am looking for to possibly add a 150cc or 250cc scooter to my stable for friends to ride and use.
I was thinking a Buddy would be a great little bike to add to my stable. I think you can just throw them into the back of a pickup and take them along with you.
My BF keeps pushing to add a 250cc bike because we can use it in a pinch and you can ride with someone. I don't know about going 2-up on a Buddy.
Is it possible for two people to ride on a Buddy 150cc? I know you can ride two up on a Kymco People 150cc. But a Buddy? Does anyone know if this is possible? Or is a Buddy a one person at a time scooter?
Mind you, my friends are not petite. They are pretty heavy people, so that is a factor as well.

Well, I am medium sized. I'm 5'7" and an athletic 170lbs. Angela is @ the same height and less than 120. The shock is a bit cranky but otherwise it seems fine. We haven't really tested it that much though because 1) lack of proper gear for her. I have a spare helmet but it needs replacing. 2) she's still scared of motion she doesn't control.
It would also depend on the hills en route. if it's fairly flat and you're not trying to speed demon it, I would think a buddy 150 would be OK. 125 might be a bit anemic. We did take a couple short trips on my Zuma 50 and it did OK, but that was a coffee run. Definitely a no-no in real traffic.
The Vespa 250's are made for such things I believe, both comfort and engine-wise, but are more expensive than many entry-level motorcycles!

Welcome. I outgrew my 50cc in 2 months, once you start scootering you get addicted pretty quick. I still use my little scoot for my daily commute to work and ride a Shadow VT500c for the rest of my moto adventuring. Hope your wife decides she wants to scooter!

Welcome Skully! This is a great forum. If you click on the pics by your fuelly you see your scoots. Are they actually pictures of your scoots or just random photos? I have not added that feature to my profile. Again, welcome!

Karen,
They're just stock photos. I had Angela take some at the gym tonight after we got out, but I think they are lame. I'll get some more up, especially since I do have some stickers on Yoda (appropriately themed).
Fuelly is a cool little resource. we have all the vehicles on it, just to keep track. Also, you can look at other users with the same models and see how yours compares.
