hey divas, how do the peel-off tatoos or decals (whatever term) compare to the regular ones? do they stand up to wind and rain and road-crap?
any favorite sources?
i know this is a frequent topic, but it's so hard to make up my mind!!!! there just isn't enough room for all the different ones on one scoot. if i could use the easy off ones maybe i could have 2 sets?!

I got a nice shoulder tat about 5 years ago. So far it has been very durable. Want more just too many irons in the fire. If you like the look I say just go for it. OH WAIT! You are talking about stickers! Temporary stickers can usually be removed with a liberal spray of WD40 lubricant and a lot of elbow grease. I've personally used a variety of stickers on my scooters and so far none of them have peeled off willingly. Stay away from anything that requires a top coat. Those are there to stay. The good thing about most stickers is that they are removable. Be careful that you don't damage your finish, though. Use a soft rag if you use the WD40 route of sticker removal. And like the regular type of body tattoos, have fun with it too.

Goo-gone is great for getting the "sticky" off of most anything. I work with lots of glues and it's a must in my supplies.
As far as which stickers can be removed and switched out with others...I wonder if the window "gel" type would work. They are pretty flexible and may lay flat enough as to not catch the wind and blow off. Can't tell you if they'd stay on for any length of time though or what would happen if the scoot sets in the hot sun. Just a thought.

At least they melted off my bedroom windows when the sun hit it a few times!! Yuck!!! and I sure WISH I had that goo-gone stuff .... took a lot of elbow grease to get that junk off the windows! Just sayin.....

You'll want to watch the Goo-Gone, it can damage paint. ...But straight rubbing alcohol usually works well for me.

I use the "gel things" to decorate my scoots for the various holidays. The best place to put them is on the inside of the windshield out of the wind. They don't have the adhesion to make it at normal driving speeds. I tried putting them on several spots one Christmas and only had about half when I got home.
Groovymom has a set of removable decals her daughters ran across I believe in one of the superstores...and they have held up remarkably well. I think they are the type intended to go on a wall, or decorate a room.

So, the gel types of stickers sound like a BIG YUCK ! I sure wouldn't want to use them on my scoot now that I've heard all the "mess" stories. I've never had experience with them other than putting them on windows with my grand-daughter, so wondered about the heat and wind issues.

The best thing I have found to remove stickers (the different warning stickers that come plastered all over a new scoot) is to simply use a hair dryer. Warm up the sticker and it will just peel right off...no elbow grease or chemicals needed.
