Last night, whooping party until well past midnight. We called the police, but I don't know if they showed up or even if it did any good, as I buried my head under 4 pillows, wore ear plugs, and gritted my teeth until sleep bludgeoned me into submission. And once again, I came outside to find cigarette butts around my scooter. They had obviously been tossed from somewhere without being crushed out. I'm wondering if the cigarette butts are being tossed deliberately towards the scooters or if they are just so self-involved and oblivious that they are simply tossing them out the window without thinking of the dry grass and vehicles below. They seem like the kind of people who are sneaky, vindictive, and prone to retaliation, so my money is on deliberate. Sigh. We're trying to move, believe me, we are. But money is much tighter now with 2 scoot payments and a kid in boarding school. At least he doesn't have to be exposed to this crap year round.

Be late a few times on the scooters. Think outside the box on this stuff. I've done it in desperate times. Not to be smart-alecky, but how can you afford boarding school and then choose to live in the "projects" or whatnot?

It's a magnet school, and they charge room & board, sliding scale based on income. I pay for it monthly, and it's cheap. Less than actually feeding him at home cheap.
We've skipped out on leases before when the living conditions were beyond what we considered acceptable, sacrificed security deposits, etc. There are a lot of factors that go into how we managed to get ourselves into the building, and why we can't just up and leave now. It sucks, but it's what we're stuck with at the moment until we have some things paid down enough to save up.
I appreciate all the support and suggestions. Thanks!

If it cheers you up any, your ears should have been burning today. I am in New England (rode the Lobster Roll this past weekend), and made a trip back up to Portland today to visit Cumberland Co Choppers. We got to talking about the permit process...the fellows there said you have been doing GREAT! They marvelled at the miles you have put on, and how you come in on your husband's Buddy. And they love your Hello Kitty scooter.

That makes me smile ear-to-ear! I love those guys, and my scoot! I just broke 800 miles on my way home from work last night!

A couple of the fellows we're talking about are in photo #6 here, standing by the orange and black Stella's. (These are pix from the Lobster Roll, a 100 mile ride that tool place this past weekend, from Portland, Maine over to Rockland, for the Maine Lobster Festival). https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 97bf3cb7cePortland isn't all bad....you just can't let the b*stards get you down, right? So much of life is attitude.

Next year, I'm doing the Lobster Roll! I don't care what it takes; I might hijack husband's 125 if necessary! (great pics, btw!)

I know exactly how you feel!! I caught some guy (who proved later to be a drug dealer) staring a little too closely at my scooter a few nights and though he was "just looking" I couldn't sleep for weeks until he was finally kicked out. I'd RAGE if someone messed with my scooter like someone messed with yours. I'm so sorry I hope you can get out soon?

So far, she's still fine down there, but I just can not stand my neighbors/hood.
In more positive news, I got my road test date finally! Only took them 1 1/2 months!
