Hello divas!

Got the scooter out of storage last week, rode it home, no worries. Rode it to the store on Friday and was seriously wondering whether I should ride it or tow it back home (rode it).

There's a loud, irregular noise that is coming from the front (I think) and while it can happen at any point, bumps and corners seem to make it worse. It sounds like something metal hitting up against something else metal. I can't see anything loose, the tires seem to be rolling properly and it has oil.

I suspect something is happening in the suspension but I really have no idea. Any suggestions on what it might be and where I should start looking?

Thank you!

Amy

I really don't have a clue, but have you gotten out your wrenches and checked to see if everything is tight? These scooters are famous for loosening up in the rear, exhaust system and all. The rear inner fender (black thing) might be loose.

Hello Amy,
just from what you described, it could be your shock.
Check and see if there is oil on the outside of it. Press down on the front of your scoot as hard as you can and see if you can make it do it while not riding.
If nothing else, get in there and look at everything real good to see if anything looks amiss.

I took the front fairings off this week-end and poked around a bit. I was hoping that the regulator thingy I replaced last fall had come loose but no such luck.

I couldn't see anything that looked out of the ordinary. The shocks seem dry and there wasn't oil where there shouldn't be...

It's overdue to be inspected. I'll ask them about it.

Thanks for the replies! :D

The Noise Has Been Revealed!

The center stand has a rubber wheel-gasket thingy on it and that had slipped and metal was hitting metal whenever I went over a bump.

The mechanic suggested taking a hammer to it to get it back in alignment. :o

I love this scooter. Every time I think I have a major repair it turns out to be something minor.

:D

Great! I'm glad it was something simple.
I'm the same way, always think the worse :-)
