Went for a truly great ride with my DH today!
Saw the sights, found new rich person country to explore, got lost,
and eventually got home safely without any "moments of unexpected excitement"
The picture is of our scooters near the beginning of the ride
They are parked in Jockey Hollow, in Morristown where I live,
and where Washington and his troops spent a miserable winter during the Revolutionary War

Very nice complimentary scooters there! Was the apron useful for the ride? Isn't nice to get 'lost' while riding?

Yup, exactly!
Rode straight through the center of Bernardsville (fairly familiar territory for us), then shortly thereafter we got lost
Saw a lot of horse farms
Also some magnificent estate/gardens with the daffodils just coming into bloom
I think we looped through Bedminster and eventually turned around when we reached Martinsville
If so we went right past the Leonard J Buck Garden,
and next time we plan to stop!
(Sorry I don't have pics... my DH likes to ride straight through, at a good clip and without stopping
But since he's the only one with a sense of direction,
I'm happy to let him lead us on)

I just don't understand this attitude (I think it's a guy thing mostly). I rather think if you are going for a 'ride', then the point is the journey, not a rush to get to the destination (back home)??? Riding a bike makes it so much easier to 'smell the roses' and stops to enjoy your new surroundings just enhance the whole experience.

Beautiful pictures!
I went on two longer rides this weekend and kept kicking myself for not having a camera.
The first was through the Port of Los Angeles over to Long Beach. Not natural and beautiful like you had but I find industry interesting so for me it was good. I did this one on my 150 as DH had the Burgman. The last few miles we exchanged bikes. At that point he finally understood why I couldn't keep up when he would gun the engine and shoot through traffic. The 150 is good off a dead stop but once I am going 30 or so there is only a gradual pick up no "passing gear" sort of thing to draw on.
Today I went "over the hill" to San Pedro and the ocean. The most hills and twisties I have dealt with so it gave me good practice. I kept hearing a voice in my head telling me "DON'T BRAKE ON TURNS!", thanks MSF!
The big thing I noticed was all the smells you take in verses being in a car. I thought how beautiful that must be when you are in the country. For me it was refineries, the ocean, BBQ s and even MJ from a car next to me at light (I was in some pretty heavy gang areas at times, to add to the excitement). It really added a whole new layer of sensory involvement to a Sunday drive
