These are expensive, but super nice!

They come with a Cardo Systems Scala headset and a mounting system for the GPS
(pretty much everything you would need to get it up and running)

Putting it on:
* TurtleDevo did this
* He had no trouble with the software (on his Mac), but others have reported challenges
* The kit does seem to be very complete and easy to use (but probably not as easy as they claim)

Using it:
* I've been using it down in Columbia SC, where I get lost instantly
* This GPS unit combo is great!
* The headset speaks directions into your ear, so you don't need to look at the display
while keeping track of those pesky motorists

* It's easy to:
...* Enter new places
...* Get home from wherever you end up
...* Set it to avoid highways
...* Go whichever way you want and have the GPS automatically adjust your route
...* Reset it for night colors
...* Remove it & stash it under the seat when parked

* It's a little more challenging to:
...* Link it up with the headset
...* Use the map feature to figure out where you are

* And it's not a good idea to:
...* Try to change the settings while moving
...* Leave the GPS unit or headset exposed while parking, since it's easy to swap them between bikes or helmets

Summary of what I think of it:
* It's really, really nice!!
* It's pretty much idiot-proof to use
* It's expensive and would have a high vapor pressure if left unguarded

We have the low end tomtom for our car and it gave us one of the most wonderful vacations ever wandering the backroads of the Berkshires.

Does this come with bluetooth? Headphones?

Yes on the Bluetooth, which means you could use Bluetooth headphones

The Cardo Systems headset connects by Bluetooth
and you can allegedly connect in your wireless phone if it has Bluetooth too

TurtleDevo keeps offering to arrange the phone thing,
but I think that would be too much multitasking for me

I am thinking of buying a Tom Tom myself, how is it so far? In terms of accuracy and ease of use.

The setup we have was great for it's intended purpose
(helping us learn our way around a new city)

Eventually, I had to stop using it because I needed to learn to do without it

We still use it for the occasional scooter road trip
and it's great for that

The batteries do have a limited range,
so it would not be great for a several day tour

That's all I know
:)

Fong, If you can ask a friend of family member to use their GPS's to try to compare brands first, I highly recommend this. There is NOTHING wrong with the Tom Tom but I, personally, have a problem with them. Or I should say my brain does. Different brand GPS's (and I'm not saying one is better than the other) are set up different. My brain loves and understands the GARMIN systems, it can't quite wrap it's head around the Tom Tom.

My sister has a Tom Tom and she has always hated it. I never understood why then, I borrowed her pick up truck one day and with in minutes was telling my self to calm down and trying to resist the urge not to smash the thing into a million pieces and then run it over with the truck. I guess our brians work similarly. I got her a Garmin Street Pilot for Xmas and she is a very happy little sister now.

Turtle, I'm not saying its bad or not worth the money but the operating systems, if you will, of both brands are noticably different. Perhaps you could compare this to the Mac vs. Windows thing....just something to keep in mind.
