Saturday, the morning of August 6th, at 10:30 A.M., in Deering Oaks Park in Portland. The trip up the coast following Route 1, a fun, medium-speed ride that passes through some of Midcoast Maine's most scenic roads and small villages. The ride ends during the last weekend of the Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland, Maine. The Maine Lobster Festival is a celebration of the best tastes of Maine, in gorgeous downtown Rockland. Mmmmmm... I wish this had happened within the last couple of weeks - my husband and I just spent 2 1/2 weeks in New England (on our scooters of course!).

A couple or us are tossing weekend bags on the scoots and heading up to Portland tomorrow to meet the group on Saturday. Hope the weather holds out for the ride back on Sunday! I'm packing light, but will have the Frogg Toggs onboard just in case. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my waterproof boots, and didn't even think about it until I just wrote that...so guess tomorrow I'd better dig up some bread bags, lol.

I rode the Buddy; my husband rode his Vespa GTS300. We rode northeast through CT, RI, & MA, stopping in Boston to see my brother. From there we pretty much went north along the coast. Camped a while on Mt. Desert Island (an old favorite of ours) and continued up the Maine coast to Lubec. From there we headed west - such beautiful roads through Maine to NH. Next longish stop was White Mountains in NH - another old favorite. We made our way home via NH, VT, MA & NY.  _________________ Like a bird on the wire,

I've never actually done this, but I do use photobucket so I have a place to put photos online for posting purposes. I should go through the pictures and try to make a nice album. If you wait till then, you'll have a million pictures from Amerivespa.  I won't make Amerivespa this year, but I know you'll have a blast. Look for a yellow Vespa with flowers...Groovymom is planning to attend.
