Hi everybody!!

I've only been a scooterist for 2 months now, but have gathered 2 other coworkers who are also newbie scoots, and we've decided to form a club at work . There are a few more people who haven't gotten a scooter yet, but are giving some serious thought to it too. There are some issues we're encountering along the way, the biggest for me is that I live about 40 miles away frm work, and have no plans to scoot through the ugliness and scariness of most Dallas Fort Worth traffic (and that's in cars too!!). I have a '12 Burgman 650 and an '07 Honda Met. The other 2 scoots at work both live about 10 minutes away frm work and plan on scooting regularly. One of them has a 50 cc Chinese scoot and the other one has a 125 cc Chinese scoot. We are very anxious to get together and ride, but me being a country scoot and these 2 being city scoots are taking creativity to new heights. I don't have a way to get my Met to the DFW airport area where we work, and the reverse is true for the other 2. I am still in the learning curve stages with the Burgie as well. So we are a club in theory right now with a very cool name and a very cool logo (in the making) and loads of enthusiasm, but kinda feeling all dressed up with no place to go!! It's a logistics problem which we WILL solve soon!! Good luck with y'alls too!

Have you gotten onto Google Maps to see what back routes might be available? You might be surprised! My husband and I have found some much safer back roads/streets to places we often go, never having given a thought that the alternate routes existed.

Also consider riding together on the weekends when the traffic is less. Right now, early mornings are the coolest anyway.
We ride from 8:30 until about 10:30 during the week (we are retired).

Be careful with that big Burgman! Our friend just returned from Italy and bought a used Burgman 650. He picks it up today.

Hello Scooterbell,

Just curious...did you ever resolve the distance ride to/from work?

Has your group grown?

Did you get your logo established?

Just wondered because I am hoping to have a club in my area some day.
