Not counting the maxi-scoots, which of the small to mid sized scooters do you think has the most underseat storage? I was looking at a Scarabeo 200 and it was really pathetic - would not even fit my helmet- maybe a purse but that would be all.

When I looked at scooters hands down the Kymco Grand Vista Had the most . I still put a small tailbag on mine to haul basicly the cover aand locks under the seat my helmet will go under there along with tool box purse.. odds and ends junk and still have room I never leave my jacket on the bike.. I take it with me..When I go to the gym (pool) I have another bag that I strap under the seat and lay it across the back of the seat that holds all my aerobic bar bells a pool noodle and towels and suits and the like.. I have never looked at top cases for it because I do not like the way they look on that scoot.

Buddies (125 & 150) have good underseat storage. You can fit a full-face helmet.

Have you checked out the reviews at Just Gotta Scoot? In at least some of them he talks about underseat storage.

The Vespa LX under seat storage it pretty decent sized. I can fit my helmet in it and I once put my boyfriend's XL sized helmet in it and it still closed. Add a top case and you have lots of storage room.

My first scooter was the Fly 150 and it was great on storage. I was able to fit my full-faced helmet under the seat, plus a small/ average-sized handbag. A top case was a plus and the glove box was decent, too. Not to mention, it handled amazingly and was a ton of fun! Good luck and happy scooting!

You can always add a trunk/top case, box, basket ...

I put a Givi 370 top box on my Vespa, which is pretty large for that size of scooter, and it completely changed my entire attitude towards scootering. I can't recommend a top box enough. I'm not going to be going to Ikea for furniture or anything, but for normal errands or a two or three days worth visit to the grocery, I just never worry about it. And my (large because it's a flip face) helmet fits in fine with lots of extra room.

My Honda Reflex 250 had a fair amount of underseat storage, but I added saddlebags. I use the scoot for work in the fall and the spring, so I need room for my teaching materials. I'd like to take a little trip on the scoot, but the weather in SE New England hasn't been very dry this summer.

piccolagita,

What kind of saddle bags did you put on your flex? I just got a JC Whitney trunk, which is awesome. But, you can never have too much space. lol

Thanks in Advance,
Sharon

Hi Sprinter,

I bought an inexpensive set of saddle bags from leather up. I think they cost about $60. They are perfect for me. They are black and my scoot is black. I put lots of orange reflective strips on the saddle bags to make the scoot more visible.

I finally got to take an over nighter with the scoot, (I'll put a little write up on the site later). I was able to pack everything I might need for 2 or 3 days in the saddle bags without a problem. I also use the scoot for work in the fall and spring. I have plenty of room for all my teaching materials.

I think the items from leather up are pretty good. I also bought a pair of chaps from them and am well satisfied with them.

Sharon, issue 51 of Scoot! Quarterly has a review of 3 different sets of saddlebags. I just got it in the mail yesterday (8/20) so you should still be able to find it in scoot stores.

My Vino 125 fits a full-face, plus whatever you can fit inside the helmet! I also added a Givi topcase, really good investment!

Considering that it's a little pipsqueak as far as size is concerned, my 89 Elite E 50cc conversion has in my opinion, an impressive amount of under seat storage.

I seldom store my helmet there (it goes on the floorboard when I take it off) but it's been known to hold an admirable amount of groceries along with a purse.
