I am sure most of you have heard of this before, but if not. . . whether out camping or at home with lots of company. . . I always found that making omlets was very time consuming and no one got to eat together. Well those days are over. . . Everyone can eat at the same time.
First thing you will need is a large pot of boiling water. Next a quart size freezer zip lock bag
Put your name on the bad with a permanent marker so it does not come off.
Everyone puts 2 eggs in their zip lock- shake it around to whip it up. Next have bowls of other ingredients ( peppers, onions, bacon, ham, sausage, mushrooms, cheese, etc). Everyone puts in their zip lock what they want to have in their omelet.
When everyone has their zip lock ready, squeeze the air out of it and put it in the boiling water (up to 6 per large pot) and boil for 13 minutes. After 13 minutes, take them out, hand them out to their owners, sit down and enjoy. They roll right out of the zip locks and the cheese doesn't even stick to the bag. I like putting mine in a tortilla and making it a breakfast burrito.
Everyone has their own customized omelet and everyone is able to sit down together and eat. . .

Wow. This is a fabulous recipe/idea, Sharilee. I can never figure out what to cook on a camping trip, which means I do a lot less camping than I'd like. Thanks so much for passing this tip along.

Glad you like it. We did this yesterday with six people to eat breakfast at my mom's. . . Putting the ingredients that you specifically want is so much fun as everyone is diving for the same stuff at the same time!! LOL
At the end of the 13 minute boil, we passed out the ziplocks to their appropriate owners, walked to the table, sat down and all ate together!
I don't know where the recipe originated, all I know is that it works!
Let me know the first time you try it. . .. Remember 2 eggs, not 3. . .
Shake up the bag after putting the eggs in it and after putting in the added stuff. . . and SQUEEZE the air out. . . .

How hard is it to get the eggs to get mixed? Seems to me that just shaking the bag wouldn't combine the yellow and white very much.

It's not hard at all. . . You will be very surprised at how easy this is. Got a couple of eggs to spare? Try it out. . . But, if you are going to cook them in the boiling water, be sure to use the freezer quart size ziplocks. If you are just going to experiment and make yourself some scrambled eggs, try any zip lock. . . don't squeeze out the air. . . zip it and shake it.

You can probably also squish the bag to to break up the yokes.
The French have a technique kind of like this called sous vide . Which I guess translates to under vacuum.
Never tried it, but see it on the Food Network all the time and Hung used it on Bravo's Top Chef this season

What an awesome idea--thanks. Got to try this, next time we have a large group for breakfast. Not only can everyone eat together, but there isn't as much mess to clean up

Not expensive or top of the line but really fun!
Retro style looks great. Runs up to 50 mph and gets 90 miles per gallon.
