You know, i don't need a performance machine...i just need her to run. Dependably. I don't want to regret this purchase Something is draining the battery. Does your scooter have a remote starter or alarm? I've heard those are battery killers.

Wow, I am so sorry you are having that trouble. I totally know what you mean about not needing a performance machine, just needing it to run - I feel the same way. My puma is in the shop, getting the bent fork and fender replaced. VERY luckily, the California warehouse had all the needed parts in stock, otherwise I think you get stuck waiting like three weeks for parts from China!

Dealership picked it up at 8 am and had her back by 5:30. DAMN, can't complain about that, huh? Voltage regulator wire was not properly connected at the factory. Ladies, cross your fingers for me, I so want to love my POS Chinese scooter!! I want Cosmo to be one of the shining exceptions! (and I'm very sorry if i sorta hijacked this thread)

Considering the length of time between posts, I'm not going to apologize for a double I have put nearly 300 indicated miles on Cosmo. She'll be getting her first oil change in the next few days. So far, so good! *crosses fingers*

Yep, the scooters coming from China & Taiwan aren't the best in the world, but they sure beat the heck out of walking! I figure that in a few years, the quality of the Chinese made brands will improve quite a bit, as they are competing with the very high-quality of the Japanese scooters. If they want to survive, they're gonna have to "step up" their quality.
Even though there are some things that could be improved, they're still (mostly) dependable, and as long as they run without too many mechanical or electrical problems, people are gonna continue to ride them.
They're great for beginners, and their low cost is getting many more people into riding that might have never considered getting on something with 2 wheels.
I've found that a few hand tools, some duct tape, and a tube of super-glue can save the day if you're planning a long ride on one of these scooters. I keep all of these things under the seat "just in case" I need them.
