I had an '08 Burgman 400, then bought an '06 650 and sold the 400.

so how powerful is the 400cc? I want to add another bike sometime in the future.. the 650cc seems too tall and very heavy.. I need it to go on highways with other motorcycles..without putting throttle to limit like I do with my bruckus.. I am now..(till I change my mind which could be next minute) thinking 400cc burgman,,, suzuki savage motorcycle (damn shifting is making me hesitate) I would love a T-Max, but seat is heigh..it seems anything 28inches and below will do me well with seat height

Have you sat on one? I think the seat height they claim is a bit misleading. I have a 29" inseam and still can't ff it cause the seat is so wide. Never been a deal breaker for me but to some it might... I find the power fine. When I ride with groups of motorcycles I have no problem keeping up. I don't find group riding very aggressive though. When I ride with my husband on the freeway he will sometimes gun his 1100 through the mid-range to beat some traffic and dust me. When I am riding alone on the freeway I don't have any problems, regularly run it up to 90+ indicated. I tend to accelerate it very hard off lights, probably much more than I need to . I filter so I like to get out and away quick. In the twisties it does great. Not uncommon for my husband to comment on what a fast scooter it is. Does it have less power than my motorcycle? Of course. Do I really need the power? Very rarely if ever.

I like the look of the burgies. If I decide to get a large scoot I am seriously considering a burgman or a Yahama Majesty or T-Max.
I sat on a Suzuki Savage and its newer generation the S40 650 - absolutely loved the Suzuki S40, perfect for a woman and I could flat foot. Woot! Only thing I wasn't crazy about is the S40 is a single cylinder thumper. I prefer the purr of the Honda and the V-twin. One day I hope to have a BMW.
Red I know you hate shifting, but maybe once you had your own bike you might grow to like it. At first I was pretty nervous about it, but I don't even think about it now. In fact I rode my motorcycle to work today, no problems other than it being chilly out. Thank goodness for motorcycle gear.

cycle-ergo.com is a great site to help you decide what's best for you; can be a real eye opener to see just how far you have to stretch to reach the ground (when you're inseam challenged) BTW, I love my Burgman 400 (the '06 model has a lower/narrower seat than the newer models)
