Today was my day off and it was gorgeous out. I took my 450 motorcycle out for a long meandering ride. It was wonderful, the road was windy with lots of twists and long lazy curves. I drove out to the end of the Peninsula and decided to take the highway for the first time on my motorcycle, I was cruising at highway speeds for the first tine ever. I am completely in love with moto-ing. It was awesome! If you care to see some pictures they are on my wee blog.

For me it is a big difference because of the cc's, I also feel more secure on the bike, because I have more contact with the frame. It's hard to compare the 450 & the 50, big difference. I think if I had a larger scoot like a majesty or Burgman I think it would be a better comparison, closer in style and cc performance.

The scoot wins hands down for city commuting, there is nothing to hassle about with storage. I rode the bike to work the other day & used a backpack, it was stuffed full. I had to o home and get the scooter to get groceries. Each has their purpose. I actually like shifting too, who'd a thunk it.

Etak It was the perfect ride. Thanks for visiting my blog, it's fun and let's me share my adventures. I hope another woman my age stumbles across the blog & feels inspired to try something new like learning to ride a scoot or bike.

Congrats on that first hwy ride. My big problem with MCs is the braking system. I have ridden a bicycle for over 50 years and I'm hard wired for hand brakes. During the MFC I took a serious header off the MC because I forgot about the foot brake when the instructor yelled STOP! for the emergency practice stop. The risk that I might do the same at another time is just too dangerous for me to take the risk of riding an MC. (Plus my legs are so short, it is hard to find an MC that I can ride other than the little Honda Rebel).
