Hi, So i must start by saying how much i love my Scoot, I ride her every day, Except when it snows. I need some advice on fixing her starting issue. The kick start works on the first try, however my push button start works after fully charging my battery for a few times and then nothing but a clicky noise, It's not seeming to hold it's charge, but when checking the battery its showing (green) ie fully charged. hmmmm!

There are 3 posibilities:
(1) The scooter's electrical system is not charging sufficiently enough to charge the battery.
(2) Your riding style does not allow the scooter to charge the battery (too much time at stop lights & too slow when scooting)
(3) The battery is old and bad enough that it will not hold a charge

The easiest to start with is #3.
Charge the battery fully overnight and take it to a battery shop or auto parts store that will test the battery under load to see if it is good or bad.

Also #2 is easy. How do you ride ? Are there sufficient periods of moderate speed ?

For #1, you need (a) a digital multimeter(DMM), (2) a fully charged battery and (3) a center stand or 2 strong friends.
With the rear wheel off the ground and the side stand stowed, start the scooter engine and test the voltage at the battery
at 1000, 2000 and 3000 RPM. The voltage should be about 14 volts at 2k and 3k.
(No more than 14.5 and no less that about 13.0 to 13.5)

At 1k, the voltage doesn't matter a lot, but it gives you an idea if idling will keep the battery charged or if discharge occurrs.
Also the 1k is really whatever the rpm is for your engine when it is warmed up.

Voltage sover 14.5 can destroy the electronics as well as the battery.

I hope this helps. Sears sells a rugid DMM for $22, usually on sale for $11

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I Had already tried the mulitmeter and it was showing that it was getting a charge! So i took her apart and located the clicking sound in the starter relay! Before i bought a new one i hooked up a battery from my jet ski and it seemed to work fine! odd because i drive her alot and not slow plus the battery was only one year old, thankfully the dude at Batterys pluss gave me a new one even tho my warranty was expired yippeee! It's been a few days and she seems to be running tip top, minus the wind gust that blew her over and effed up my exhaust/mirror! SNARF! lol PINKI
